Breve Consulting

Partnering with wineries to provide actionable analysis, industry insight, and results-focused strategies.

Wineries are uniquely challenged in today’s marketplace. The needs for awareness, recognition and growth are often directly tied to funds for sales & marketing, which are precious. A national sales manager would be a welcome addition for most, but the salary requirements make such a move a non-starter. Increased national distribution is a logical next step for growth, but where would one begin such a process? Perhaps the winery is being overlooked altogether and there’s a branding and/or marketing problem.

Breve Consulting believes all of a winery’s needs are eminently solvable and they understand that every expenditure needs to be carefully weighed. With that in mind, Breve Consulting offers consultant services ‘a la carte’ in order to meet the most pressing goal with efficiency. There is no interest in constraining a winery’s time or finances with bundled services or contracts.

Breve Consulting’s areas of practice include:

Branding and Messaging
Visual Identity
Market Analysis
Product Mix Evaluation
Media and Relationships
DTC Revamp
FOB Restructuring
Distributor Relations and Acquisition

Coefficient Consulting
Simon Siegl

Coefficient Consulting was established by Simon Siegl in 2005, with a focus on business planning, strategic growth initiatives and exit planning for the wine industry and related businesses.

A selection of completed projects includes facilitating the establishment of tasting rooms in Woodinville for J Bookwalter Wines, Dusted Valley Vintners, Amavi Cellars, Pepper Bridge Winery, Sparkman Cellars, William Church Winery, Market Vineyards and Tsillan Cellars; business plans and financial pro forma development for Vino at the Landing (a Renton wine bar), Finamoré Spirits (a liqueur producer and importer), and Wine World Warehouse (a Seattle wine superstore); and, ownership succession coaching for Woodward Canyon Winery.  Although he does not do ongoing government compliance, Simon has helped many start-up wineries through the licensing process with federal and state agencies.  His work has also included specific government relations initiatives for individual wineries as well as groups sharing the same concern.

Simon built his consulting practice on experience gained from 17 years in leadership roles with local, regional and national winery associations, including the Washington State Wine Commission and the Washington Wine Institute.  In these positions he developed strengths in financial management, government relations, communications and image development, resource development, strategic planning and project management.

Garvey Schubert Barer

GSB’s Client Service Philosophy. As a firm, we aspire every day to provide exceptional client service as defined and judged by our clients. To accomplish that aim, we believe the whole is greater than simply the sum of its parts. We know that the experience, knowledge and counsel available from the collective group of professionals magnifies each individual’s ability to help clients succeed. Our approach to client service and collaboration encompasses:

Identify and Understand

Identifying and understanding the client’s needs, objectives and any constraints in seeking our assistance. We systematically seek those in the firm with direct or related experience and industry knowledge as we determine how best to staff specific matters.

Deliver Results

First and foremost, we deliver on our clients’ expectation of excellent legal work, promptly and efficiently. As needed, this may involve non-traditional resources such as use of the firm librarian, non-lawyer professionals, and/or resources outside the firm such as vetted third-party professionals.

Augment; Report and Repeat

To deliver more than excellent legal work, we encourage and empower GSB attorneys and staff to seek opportunities to bring insights, information or other value that the client finds useful. This has involved “lessons learned” sessions, client educational events, in-house trainings, current event updates, and other forward-looking discussions designed to provide more than simply handling the matter at hand.

To achieve the level of client service we desire, we also routinely examine questions designed to help the client and firm improve their respective operations. We ask: what other opportunities are there to help the client succeed? What threats must be mitigated? What plans must be laid for the future? How can we serve the client more efficiently and successfully? Often these questions are examined in a frank discussion with key client representatives at the conclusion of a matter.
